Card using WOW! Embossing Glitter by Sharen Grimsley

We had a wonderful Make N Take this week with Sharen using the WOW! Embossing Glitter!
WOW!  Vintage Amethyst Embossing Glitter
WOW! Totally Teal Embossing Glitter
WOW! Vintage Wallpaper Clear Stamp
The Essential Glue Pad
Anti-Static Pad
Heat Gun

The first step in making this card is to rub an anti-static pad over the cardstock you will be using.  This is a very important step so that your glitter will only stick to what you want it to!

Second, cover your stamp with glue using "The Essential Glue Pad".

Then begin applying the embossing glitter!  To make this card, Sharen used a cascading method when applying the glitter.  To do this, turn the card up on it's side (with a sheet of paper or something else underneath to "catch" the excess glitter") and slowly pour the glitter onto your stamped image.  Pour as much as you like with the first color, and then switch to the second color to get this two-toned effect.

Lastly, use your heat gun to finish the embossing process.

Karen used the NEW Bo Bunny "Primrose" Collection to make this elegant layout using photos of her precious grand daughter.

She also made use of her Silhouette CAMEO to cut out the letters and the Spellbinders Nestability "Timeless Rectangle" die to make the frames seen in the sample photos.

Karen "fussy cut" some of the butterflies and double layered them to give them this 3D effect that really makes these pages stand out!

Create this triple layer card in just a few simple steps! Perfect for a Valentine's Day  card or use these steps to create your own card for any occasion!

Layer #1: Card Base
Red Cardstock - 5.5" x 8.5"

White Cardstock* - 4" x 5.25"

Layer #2: Middle Layer
Step #1.
Black Cardstock - 3.25" x 4.5"
White Cardstock* - 3" x 4.25"

White Cardstock* - 2" x 3.25"

*White Cardstock will be used for stamping.

  1. Attach all layers of white cardstock with small amounts of RE-POSITIONABLE tape - starting with the largest on bottom and small on top.
  2. Stamp* preferred images on top of ALL layers.
  3. Emboss (or color) images. In this card, Sharen went back and stamped her image in black ink around the outside of the card.
  4. Unassemble layers and glue the largest (bottom) white layer to your red card base and the other layers to their respective black cardstock pieces.
  5. Wrap ribbon around middle and top layers before re-assembling.
  6. Embellish with small bow.
    Step #3.
*When embossing an image, use an embossing pad, VersaMark, or The Essential Glue Pad to stamp image.  If stamping and using Copic markers to color, stamp using Memento Ink.

For the inside of the card, you may want to use a piece of white cardstock layered with black cardstock for a stamped or embossed sentiment.
