Card using WOW! Embossing Glitter by Sharen Grimsley
We had a wonderful Make N Take this week with Sharen using the WOW! Embossing Glitter!
ITEMS USED:
WOW! Vintage Amethyst Embossing Glitter
WOW! Vintage Amethyst Embossing Glitter
WOW! Totally Teal Embossing Glitter
WOW! Vintage Wallpaper Clear Stamp
The Essential Glue Pad
Anti-Static Pad
Heat Gun
The first step in making this card is to rub an anti-static pad over the cardstock you will be using. This is a very important step so that your glitter will only stick to what you want it to!
Second, cover your stamp with glue using "The Essential Glue Pad".
Then begin applying the embossing glitter! To make this card, Sharen used a cascading method when applying the glitter. To do this, turn the card up on it's side (with a sheet of paper or something else underneath to "catch" the excess glitter") and slowly pour the glitter onto your stamped image. Pour as much as you like with the first color, and then switch to the second color to get this two-toned effect.
Lastly, use your heat gun to finish the embossing process.

Karen used the NEW Bo Bunny "Primrose" Collection to make this elegant layout using photos of her precious grand daughter.
She also made use of her Silhouette CAMEO to cut out the letters and the Spellbinders Nestability "Timeless Rectangle" die to make the frames seen in the sample photos.
Karen "fussy cut" some of the butterflies and double layered them to give them this 3D effect that really makes these pages stand out!

Stamping Technique Using DRYER SHEETS by Sharen Grimsley
"Holly Card"
by Sharen Grimsley
This is a really simple and unique Christmas card idea using an ordinary,
everyday object - dryer sheets!
Sharen has been telling everyone to "save your dryer sheets" for two months -
now we all know why! :)
To make the holly part of this card you will need:
- 1 USED dryer sheet (must be used - new sheets are too stiff)
- Stamp of your choice
- Ink pad (we prefer Memento)
- Copic Markers (or other coloring medium)
- Glue Stick
First, stamp onto white cardstock.
For this card, Sharen used the "Holly Sprig" stamp by Memory Box and a "Tuxedo Black" Memento ink pad.
| Guide for coloring "Holly Sprig" stamp. |
Next, using Copic Markers (or other coloring medium of your choice) color in the stamped
image.
For this card, Sharen used the following Copic markers:
C-2, G-82, G-24, G-0000, YG-63, G-0000, R-29, RV-29, RV-69, & YG-95
Sharen made the guide to the right for coloring in the stamped holly leaves (hopefully you can see the different shading)!
After your stamp is colored, take a glue stick and coat the top. Really load it up with glue! If you think you've glued enough... go back over it again! :) And make extra sure to get the edges where your paper has been trimmed.
Now take the dryer sheet and place on top. If your sheet is wrinkled, just take the edges and pull until the wrinkles disappear. Look again at the edges to make sure the sheet is sticking. Then take scissors and cut around the edge of your paper, trimming away the excess dryer sheet.
Sharen stamped, colored, and "fussy cut" a second holly leaf to glue on the inside of this card to cover the back side of the little brad that shows on the front. She decorated the inside of her card using a simple "Merry Christmas" stamp, stamped in black ink on Christmas green cardstock.
The front of this card was embellished with gold ribbon, tied in a simple knot, and a brad.
See! Simple, easy, and unique!
